Request for Proposal

The Lihanda Power Company (LPC) seeks to develop a 3.34MW run-of-the-river hydropower station along River Yala in Gem Sub-County, Siaya County. LPC is seeking the services of a Project Manager (PM) who shall oversee the remaining development activities of the project, which has been in development since 2018. This project is at an advanced stage, awaiting the Ministry of Energy’s approval of the Feasibility Study. Upon approval, the project will seek to negotiate a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the off-taker, Kenya Power. Some key outstanding development milestones include finalizing landrights, obtaining a PPA, completing detailed design and engineering, and securing financing and investment for construction. The immediate objective of the PM is to drive the project to Financial Close, ensuring it is ready for the commencement of construction.
