KIFFWA had the privilege of hosting Opes -Lcef, based in Italy, one of our co-investors in our commercial water purification project servicing the counties of Nakuru, Naivasha, Kajiado, Nairobi, Machakos and Kiambu.
This project for drinking water has helped in the eradication of water-related illnesses such as cholera, typhoid and reducing incidences of fluorosis that affect children’s bones and teeth. Additionally, the project has increased access to affordable and clean drinking water for over 120,000 households and also created direct and indirect employment for over 200 people, hence the impact of SDGs 1 (No poverty) ,3 (Good health and well being), 6 (Clean water and sanitation) and 8 (Decent work and economic growth) being accomplished.
Elena Casolari, the founder and co-trustee of Opes-Lcef (our co-investor in the project) paid a courtesy call to our CEO CPA Joseph Murabula. She was accompanied by Elisabet Nyquist and Aarthi Ramasubramanian from Opes-Lcef . Clement M Wandera the project’s Investment Officer was also present in the meeting.
KIFFWA looks forward to bringing on board more partners to help in achieving the above SDGs so as to make our society a better and fulfilling place to live in.
