Lake Victoria Tug and Barge (LVTB) is excited to announce the successful conclusion of its first round of fundraising, marking a crucial milestone in the company’s mission to revolutionize cargo transport across East Africa. In tandem, LVTB has entered into a co-development agreement with the Kenya Innovative Finance Facility for Water (KIFFWA) to advance the LVTB project on Lake Victoria. This collaboration harnesses LVTB’s cutting-edge maritime solutions and KIFFWA’s expertise in water-sector financing, aiming to create a sustainable, cost-effective transport network to boost regional trade and economic development.

LVTB is committed to transforming cargo transport on Lake Victoria by providing safe, reliable, and efficient tug and barge services that provides customers with a competitive transport solution. Specializing in containerized and roll-on/roll-off cargo, LVTB ensures rapid delivery with minimal delays and risks, backed by expertly trained crews and a dedicated customer service team. LVTB optimizes speed, quality, and environmental sustainability. KIFFWA, the Kenya Innovative Finance Facility for Water, is a co-developer of water initiatives in Kenya, mobilizing early-stage capital and technical expertise to address the country’s vast water challenges and financing gaps. Supported by the Netherlands Water Partnership and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kenya, KIFFWA provides catalytic funding alongside legal and technical support to bring projects from concept to financial close. KIFFWA fosters bankable, scalable solutions across water sub-sectors, including transport, sanitation, and drinking water, contributing to Kenya’s progress toward universal water access by 2030.
